Hmmm would it have helped and warned me early enough on chrismas afternoon('87), when a stone craped my back tire while I overtook a car?---
No don't think so.
For that money I get quite a few galons of prime material for to eat miles.
Anyhow I wouldn't call it a complee white elefant tool. It will be perfect gadget for a mile eater like long distance messengers (like I did '83-'85) or Ara alias Beemerchef.

Another contraption on a valve stem that has the potential to fail.

I considered this system but figured that a fast leak would be manifest by progressively poor handling and anything else I could detect by just checking tire pressure on a regular basis.

For that kind of money, it's a non-starter. He probably pays $2.00 apiece for them somewhere on a back street in Shanghai.
