That happens to me too. I never have figured it out. Just hit enter when you want a line break.

before you submit the post, click on the box below that says 'disable HTML in this post'
keeps spacing that you use.

If you go to Settings in the upper right hand corner then click edit profile, someplace near the bottom is a box to turn the rich text feature off. It works a LOT better. Took me a while to get this figured out!
