What Tires Would Work the Best?

I’m in the process of attaching an 88 TLE sidecar to my 03 Ultra and I’m wondering what the best set tire set up would be. I’ve read some of the threads and I’ve noticed many people using car tires, but mostly on the foreign sleds and on the rear tire. Do you out fit the whole rig in car tires or just the rear tire? Will a car tire work on Harleys as well and if so does anyone have any recommendations as to what tires will work? Your suggestions & recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I run a dunlop police tire on the rear of my 01 roadglide/cal.3 sidecar rig getting about 7-7500 miles out of it the tire is made of a harder rubber compound and the side walls are thicker which helps to stop the tire from flexing in corners etc.

Car tires can be used on HD's but mounted on rims modified to accept a car tire a standard HD rim will not hold a car tire.

There is a guy by the name of Harry Tarzanian ? in central PA. who makes rims for ALL kinds of bikes that want to run a car tire..........but you shouldn't remove the sidecar with the car tires STILL on the bike...not safe.

Thanks Chuck,
I take it you run a standard HD bike tire on the front & sidecar? I'll check out that guy in PA. I'm not planning on taking the sidecar on & off. The whole idea was to make a family buggy so Dad can get another solo sled. ha ha ha
Thanks again for the response.

Respectfully,
Al
