the mixed nuts works for me we are a collection of people from all walks of life who share a common passion which is dificult to explain to those less fortunate, for me i love cruising around with every one waving & smiling at you, impromtu conversations whenever you park with people who remember uncle fred having one or dad or grandad, & best is when you meet another nut on the road who instantly becomes a friend. lol Hank

I agree. It does make for some good instant conversation. The only strange thing is that everybody, including the children, will invariably ask...."Does it have a reverse?". LOL.
Does it have a reverse?". LOL.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that hit home,,,I don't know HOW many times I've been asked that,,,I just tell um "Yep,,,I'm standing on it " and wait the blank look to disappear, some times it does and sometimes it don't,,,at least while I'm there. Kids,,,they look at it as a Giant Tonka Toy and dogs look at it as a new fire plug, one of these days I'll have to tell you all about the time I crossed the Canadian border and the drug dog decided to pee on my brand new BMW and I helped him change his mind with a gentle shove with my foot,,,,,it was good for 4 hours 🙁
regarding the reverse thing my other rig has it ( ural ) but it still takes everybody by suprise, so i guess they expect you to say no.

Supprise reverse:
I jumped back into the snow when the husband of a dear collegue backed out of the barn with their Dnepr.
To that time I had allready uncounted km and miles (finally ONLY 50 IN TOWN>50 MILES/HOUR) on my personal account and never had met a rig with reverse.
There is a incredible simpaty factor when you finally step into somebody as nuts as you yourself. or even worse infected by the rig virus.
Most rig pushers have a quite open mind and love to experiment new things.
So have a nice day.
Regards from the kid who never wanted to grow up...
Peter Pan
Weirdest comment I've heard was by a woman at a Harley open house. She said of my TLE: "That looks just like a little coffin!"
Never did tell my wife that one.
I sometimes take my son to school in my sidecar and wonder what other parents think of me.
A nut, it must be..
My rig is a leaner so maybe I'm also 1% of 1%, LOL.

Let them think what they want, all that matters is in the morning that you do not have to be ashamed against yourself in the mirror.
The most valuable thing and only we can take to the other side is a clean conscience. and with the rig you definetely show your kid that there is no need to be a conformist.
Best regards

i remember the first time i took our daughter to school she made me park around the corner, the next time it was into the car park to show her friends as they had seen her & decided it was cool. stay cool. Hank
Don't take it too personally. My daughter (now 33) made me leave her off before the school yard and I was driving a Toyota Tercel.
I have decided there is something very liberating in being called a nut. If you embrace the title, it allows you to follow your own path without too many preconceived notions on what to do or how to act. In the end it is a lot more fun I suspect.

Well said, Kevin.
Never pretend to be something else then You Yourself!.
Other concepts my grandmother taught me were:
A Man is worth as much as his word,
And he is as strong as the consequence he tick to his principles.
Nowbody is agold coin so why try to be sympatic to everybody. Just stay faithfull to yourself and your family.
Best Regards
Sven

Ahh, that's a nice way of dealing with bullies.
I will try it in the future if necessary.
I need loud pipes instead of the current stockers for that and a tatoo or two (fake ones will suffice). LOL
