I thought it would be fun to get a little dust on some rigs before the show and shine.

We just made it home. Tod and the volunteers did a great job. I enjoyed it and I'm sure lots of others did too. Oh I brought most of that North Carolina dirt home on the rig. It may now be mud since we hit some good rain today near KY and IL. I've got pictures from that ride and as soon as I've found the camera I'll post them. I think they are on the Parkway and not in the dirt. Ron was holding on and complaining about my driving most of that time.

Connie did that Electric Vest fit your hubby? Pretty cool door prize for sure.

Besides, I didn't notice any dust where I was sitting. 🙂

I suppose a little dirt isn't bad, "IF" that is what you had in mind when you went for a ride. But we thought that we had bypassed the "dirt" part of that ride! Boy, did we get fooled! I can truly say that I never intended to take my Goldwing on that kind of ride. Jimmy says it only takes about 2 hours to change the air filter. Double that for two Goldwings and that's a pretty big time expenditure for a bit of dusty fun. Oh well, I can truly say it was part of the rally that I won't forget!

Hi Joyce,

Glad to hear that you are safely back home!

The electric vest was definitely a cool door prize! I'm sure that there's no problem with the fit. I've been trying to convince Jimmy(Doug) that he wants to give it to me. But so far, he isn't leaning in that direction. He was already been having a great time at the rally, winning such a terrific door prize certainly was the icing on the cake. Hey, you know, that might actually have been my ticket - he had all of them!

I'm glad that you got photos of the ride. I rode in back on both rides and was wishing that I could get a shot of all of those rigs going down the road. But of course, it is a bit impossible to use a camera and drive at the same time (well, for me, at least). I should have given Jimmy my camera, he takes photos all the time while he's riding. Of course, he has dropped several cameras doing that and I'm really fond of my camera. Ergo, no cool shots of all of those rigs!

Connie

Joyce and members....

We got home on Monday around 1230 and just want to thank Tod and his crew and all of the others that helped put this rally on. They did a great job. Clarissa and I were up there a week in advance, so we got to ride around a lot prior to the rally. Wonderful area for a rally and a vacation. Also one of the first places that I didn't feel "old". Just kidding. It was good to see a few "junior" citizens there with their hacks and kids. Can only hope that the memory sticks.

Will send you an article I wrote for my newsletter and some pic's as soon as the pic's are ready.

Jim and Clarissa Van der Veen
