Guys: I ride a 1988 BMW R100RT with a Ural hack. Dauntless installed the hack and subframe. I have purchased an Aspen Classic pop-up camper and want to tow it with the sidecar rig. I have seen several BMW rigs with this towing setup, but I have no idea where to get the proper hitch to mount on the subframe between the bike and the car, or how to mount it. Any recommendations?

I had a Hitch on my Valkyrie/Ural rig. It consisted of a length of 1 3/4 " perforated square tubing that attached below the left frame rail of the sidecar, extending back about 8 inches. It then had a brace that angled from the sidecar axle, near the wheel, back to the hitch about 6 or 7 inches from the end. 1 3/4 inch tubing accepts a standard 1 1/4 inch coupler.

It attached to the sidecar frame with two 3/8 inch muffler clamps, one at the front crossmember of the sidecar and one at the rear.

Originally, it was meant to be temporary, to see if I wanted it between the bike and car or behind the bike. It worked so well that I just painted it and left it on the sidecar.

You can see it here before it was painted.
