tomco conversion
I want to know if tomco is still in business or if anyone knows where i can get one
We have an old very crude Tomco sidecar for a CB750A for sale, It may be missing parts, it is missing the nose cone $400, We also have a CB750A for sale, head gasket started to leak oil so it was parked about 10 years ago.
We also build these type of sidecars but only build one a year and will not be taking on another for about 8 months.
If a person is going to operate the bike from the sidecar then we mount the sidecar on the left, If they are going to ride in the sidecar then we mount on the right. Sidecars that will be ridden in rather then operated from we do often and there is about a 6 week lead time on these.

i've seen the tomcos on harleys and both were on the right side in your opinion whats the differences the onle time i've seen them on the left is overseas .
If you are going to be operating the bike while in the sidecar, you should be on the left side. Having the sidecar on the right is kind of like driving a right hand drive car. Toll boths, drive up window and most important passing does not work as well if the sidecar is on the right.

The sidecar is made out of steel diamond plate, It has a fender and a trailer type wheel. It has the hook ups for the controls but is made very crude. I do not have photo's. If you are interested in it, email me at jay@dmcsidecars.com and I can take photo's in the morning.

I once had a right hand drive Morgan roadster. Imagine coming up behind a wagon load of hay being pulled down the road at 8mph behind an old farm tractor. Now think about how far you would have to pull over before you would see the giant Kenworth truck bearing down on you.
If the operator is sitting in the sidecar, you would definitely want the sidecar on the left.
I have a 82 cm 450 with a tomco right side. Love it and it's no big deal for me on that side
