Any of you done a three wheel slide on pavement - wet or dry, intentional or (more likely) unintentional?

No, I didn't - just curious.

Yes, in the winter on icy roads. Not so bad on right hand turns, but its disconcerting when you loose traction on the front wheel while turning left. That's when you give it some gas or rear brake to break loose the rear and get your steering back.

earlier in the week i think wednesday i was enjoying riding a narow twisty lane when as i entered a left curve ( same as right for you in the usa ) a white van coming toward me had half his vehicle on my side of the road i had to increase the turn rate to miss him, thank god for russian tyres ( i was on the ural ) every thing just slid instead of the chair lifting, WOW i made it.

Biker speaking to St. Peter.

Biker: Well St. Peter, here I am.

S.P.: Yes, nice to see you. Sorry you had to come but we'll make you comfortable here.

Biker. Yes thank you.

S.P." Say, I meant to ask, you are a fairly young fellow. How was it that you came up here?

Biker: Well, I was on my Ural sidecar with my 200 pounds of sacked concrete in the chair doing about 40 mph on a country road when I came upon a patch of black ice.

S.P.: Gosh what happened?

Biker: Well, I tried to maintain control. I used every last trick in the book. I did countersteering, solo biker steering, even no steering and I even tried to think pleasant thoughts, but I still went into an almost instantaneous, three wheel, uncontrolled slide.

S.P.: Really? How long ago was that?

Biker: Oh about two minutes.

🙂
