Tech. Question
I have a Hannigan car on a '88 wing.And the car is an '04.
The car brake has always squeck(sp) every since new but works right.
Is there any cure for the noise?

brake squeel is often caused by dirt or vibration in the contact area of the pads/shoes to disc or drum,..clean with" brake parts only" clean, then assure the shoes are not loose or pads vibrating against the rotor,..road grime or rust can cause this also,..good luck , noises like that will drive ya nuts..cheers, crawf.

If all else fails, remove the pads, paint the back side with latex house paint, and assemble them while it's still tacky. We used to do that to new Jaguars at the dealership.
I have a 2005 Hannigan Classic sidecar on my V-Star 1100 Classic and the
sidecar brake started squealing after about 8 months of riding. Hannogan
had us deglaze the brake rotor several times, which only helped for a
short while. The last thing that they had us try was putting a anti-squeal
compound on the back of the pads. None of these remedies proved to work
for long. Hannigan then sent us a new brake rotor and taht seems to have
cured the problem. Call Hannigan and talk to Dave Keesee, he should be
able to help you.

First I may say start to use the breaks harder, they become like glass as we say here, if you do not use them hard enough.
Second if they are disc brakes it may be that the pads got uneven worn and start to vibrate at breaking, If they have enough meat still, you might try to rectify them even and take out the gib.
Check your disc if it is warped or uneven.
With drum breaks its a different story.
I prefer changeing brake pads before they become worn, so I didn't had the squeaking trouble since I left Germany were in winter you couldn't free the breaks by hard breaking.
I see the difference in the companies and families cars. Those who drive like grannies have horrible breaks (normally weak engines too, that need minimum a long 200mile trip to weak up again)
