Steering damper
About 200 miles back I was complaining about headshake on the Honda
magna with the vespa sidecar. Made some of the adjustments that were
suggested thanks for the help. Hack'n suggested a steering damper
thats my next move. I've seen two rigs go thru town, with dampers.
Both were bought with damper installed, both were HD's The
installation brackets seem easy enough, anything critical on the
geometry?... The big ? where to get one and what do I ask for.
An hours ride is hard on the hands... Thanks again for all the help

Lonnie (Hack'n) who's in Idaho can help you with a dampner.

I copied this from another website, ...
I guess you know by now,........ Napa has changed their part # for the stabilizer shock.
Their new # is 113425021....... its for a 1965 Volkswagen Beetle.
Price has gone up too, now costs $40.59 plus tax.Might pay to shop around with other parts stores. I'm pretty stuck with what we have out here in the sticks, but O'Reillys Auto Parts will price match Napa's online price.
It is available from J.C. Whitney for 28.00 as of early this summer.
I use them on all my rigs. They work best with a Heim joint at the little end, and a home made universal at the big end.
I use a 1/2 inch heim joint with a 1/2" to 10mm bushing shouldered to protrude 1 tenth of an inch on the upper side and 9/16ths OD washer with a 10mm hole on the lower side to allow maximum movement at the heim joint.I used a 3/8 in Heim joint and has held up ok for four years.
I lucked out!!!!!
I checked with our closest "Auto Zone" they had it for $29.99 O'Reillys matched their price & claimed they lost money Go figure!
Thanks to Leo Thompson
