Archie and I just got back from the Springdale (WA) rodeo. Went up to watch but wound up entering all events we could run the rig in. Had an absolute blast and had the crowd cheering. The vintage harvest (all antique and vintage farm equipment) was in Davenport today and we usually attend that too. But they both came on the same week end this year. The bike rodeo won out. I forgot the camera for the first time in a long time. But they'll be on at least one web site. I'll post that information when the photos are up.

What a day!! Arch is sound asleep in his chair now...

You sure know how to make a guy home sick Tom. I was raised up at Chewelah and used to work in the wheat harvest at Davenport and Harrington. That was back in the late 50's and early 60's. I always remember Reardan because that's where I turned left Friday night and right real early Monday morning when I was working in the wheat harvest.

David, any time you want to come up and tour your old stompin' grounds you're welcome here. You didn't do bad for yourself as far as location goes though. Coos Bay is a great area! Been there lots of times and spent the last part of my time in the Coast Guard on the lifeboat station at Harbor, OR. 'Course, that's pushing 40 years ago now. We've been back to the Brookings area several times.

I'll offer up too. I have a place near Valley at Waitts Lake. I have the beer and the BBQ. It's a great area to just ride around.

I always wondered about the rodeo. I take it that it was a good time. I am never too sure about Springdale. The local authorities tend to spend a lot of time pulling motorists over for violating the various speed zones.

How was the turn out? They have some decent food?

In my opinion it was a great run. The rodeo is improving all the time and Keith and crew are going a long ways toward working the bugs out. I'm sure next year will be better than this year. But like all bike runs you'll undoubtedly find some folks that would like something a little more upscale and thumb their noses at this one in favor of one where they can haul their bikes inside thier Prevost motorhomes and impress with money. This isn't a run for that.

Almost forgot- had to come back and edit. As far as the local Sprindale law inhancing the coffers with traffic citations, watch your speed in Reardan too. These small rural communities don't have much of a source of revenue and have to make the most of what they have.
