Sidecar Shopping
I posted a wanted ad for a used sidecar, and I also need parts(subframe, shocks, info etc). Was contacted by a fellow member, Jay at Dauntles Sidecars. My wife Carol and I have special needs for some medical conditions-I'm recovering from extensive ankle/foot surgery, and Carol is waiting for hip replacements, two total, each spaced one year or so apart. We need a hack that opens in the front like Cal. Friendship III etc. Knowing of our limited budget from not being able to work, Jay neverless invited us down to his shop south of Seattle to show us some ideas. Until I can return to work, most sidecars are just out of reach for now. We got the red carpet treatment none the less. Jay gave us a tour of both his shops,(fabrication-set up, and then the final assembly shop) We got a chance to check out a wide variety of rigs from budget, very clean, simple, and straightforward to exotic with DVD,Sat Raidio,Tunes like on a TV HotRod.Showed and explained the subframe needed for my application, with lots of advice on searching for the perfect used rig for us.Very informative. Thanks Jay. Can't wait to check out the booth at the Seattle Cycle Show, Bob and Carol
