Hello!

Brand new to the list here, was directed here by several people as a good goto place, as this is my hail Mary!

Getting married in a little over a week (Oct. 29th) in St. Augustine FL. The day after, we are doing a video shoot, and we would LOVE to get footage of my new wife and I, in full wedding attire, around St. Augustine in a sidecar.

If anyone has any leads on where I could rent, beg, borrow a rig, I would be eternally grateful!

I've been riding almost 20 years, been an MSF instructor for 10 of them, raced with CCS, AMA, FUSA, run my own trackdays, and am all about safety. I will treat your rig with kid gloves.

Anyone help out?

Thanks much!
Paul

I'm too far away to be of help but feel it necessary to make this comment. Do you realize that all the experience in the world on two wheels doesn't equal any experience on a sidecar rig? Other than knowing where the controls are on the motorcycle. Just sayin'....

I *do* understand that. Absolutely. And have taken the MSF sidecar course!

Thanks! I'm thinking the odds of finding a rig at this stage are pretty small. May need to look into renting a scooter! 🙂

You might try Gene Holopaw. (I'm not sure that's the correct spelling.) If you go to www.imz-ural.com and look under dealers, you'll find his information there. He's a FL Ural dealer and a good guy to do business with. Just a thought...

Paul,

I hope it worked out for you. My wife and I got married on a beach in South Africa zipped away in a sidecar rig to tour the Stellenbosch region. The day before we had taken it down to the Cape of Good Hope. It's one thing to switch from 2 to 3 wheels, it's another to switch the hack from the right to the left. That took a bit of getting used to. Here's us 20 minutes after getting married

Well, did it happen yet?! Please let us know and include pics if possible?

Either way, congratulations to you and your new bride and all the best to you in your hacked up future!

Thanks for all the suggestions and well wishes. The wedding was FANTASTIC. I was not able to secure a sidecar, but that was OK. The next morning we were *shattered* and there was no way we could have gone out on a rig. We managed to get some great photos just around town on foot, and that was about all we could manage!

Thanks again!

Here's to many, many years together. Hopefully in the near future you can fulfill your desire for this remaining part of your wedding plans. No need to give up the idea entirely even with a slight schedule modification...
