HI ALL:
Am on-and-off lurker here[when health is OK and this $&%# pc is working, LOL].
Am also old geezer[fossil]and was a member of the old USA, back in about 1983/'84, when I put my second rig[cycle #7]on the road and rigs were really rare to see here in the New England area.
Was sort of curious about why there's no published list of all USCA members in an archive somewhere, listed from #1, on and maybe with an Honor Roll of Deceased Members, also.
How about a posted history of the organization, from it's founding by ??? to-date and telling why it's name was changed and it's growing pains/ officers in chronological order [is there an existing book with this info?].
What State in the Union has the most dense population of rigs? [CA?, PA?]
What cycle/sidecar combo is the most popular/common out there?
Better shut up now, as this list too long and wife wants to use pc.
TTFN.....Old Tom aka papasmurf in NH.

Bluedaddy,

A while back the idea of a complete listing of members was discussed but there are a number of folks who DID NOT want such a list, considering it an invasion of privacy. There was a lot going on at the time and the matter was dropped. It's still a good idea but the "opt out" process might be an issue. If you want to find folks who are near you, post in the "Riders Wanted" section on this site.

Sadly, there is no book with a comprehensive history of the USCA. I would have thought that was the Secretary's job but I've been told that it isn't which is a good thing because he didn't do it. So all that history is lost. We are looking for old issues of The Sidecarist to sort of piece together a history. Have you got any? I'd like to scan them and return them to you if you would lend them to me.

Last time I saw a membership roster, Illinois was the state with the largest number of members. I've never seen anything defitinitive on which combination is most popular although we did ask that as a poll question a few years ago.
