Sena intercom
My passenger and I have Sena 5 headsets.
When hers is in I get a lot of engine in my headset.
Is there a squelch on Sena 5 to cut down engine and wind noise?
We are planning a trip to Anchorage from Montana in June and life would be easier id we could talk to each other without the extra interference.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

There's no squelch. Her mike is picking up the engine noises because her head is right next to the motor. The wind noise is caused by wind. You can reduce wind noise by (1) getting a full face or modular helmet for her, (2) getting a better windshield, or (3) get a better wind sock for the microphone. Search on Amazon for "intercom headset wind screen." But . . . if you're gonna be gone on a month-long trip to Alaska, dump the ancient Sena 5's and get yourself some new intercoms. Since you are already familiar with the Sena 5, take a look at the Sena 10S (that's ten-ess). Set you back $400 but save you a lot of frustration.
