I have seen several rigs go thru the I-81 corridor from Martinsburg WV to New Market VA in tha past few weeks. Sept 28 i seen a nice black Honda Valkyrie Interstate w/sidecar , later that week a white Gold Wing with matching rig on rt 11 near Martinsburg and severel un-identifiable rigs in passing on 81. Good to see we are out there running about. Sept 27 I passed Bob Hunt on 522 south of Winchester VA as he was heading to Harpers ferry WV to tour the historical sites in the town and surrounding battle fields. I would be cool if we had a map on here "Where you are from" for those who share there locations so when we travel we could look each other up easier.

I have seen exactly three rigs living in Manhattan. One was an old Guzzi which someone set fire to many years ago, one is a battered orange Vespa scooter rig I see parked on the street in the East Village, and the last was white rig that came barreling around the corner at First Avenue and 33rd Street about a week ago. Kudos to him for pulling that maneuver off in mid-town Manhattan traffic!

I've seen only one other sidecar in my area, but it was off in the distance and I was on foot. I've heard rumors of a couple floating around in Central California, but I'm not seeing them. Even at the Superbike races at Laguna Seca, there is an informal show & shine afterwards. Out of a few hundred motorcycles, mine was the only sidecar!

During 25 years in Costa Rica I have seen on the road only 3 times a rig (a twenties Harly with a "boat"/a huge Goldwing / and a fellow from Pensilvania when he passed by to Patagonia (red his article a few month later)). In my friends workshop I could see quite a few STANDING, but never riding. One kid I met once at technical revision said he did drive in 3 years owning his R60 BMW rig tremendous 30km = 20 miles. My bikes always were made for riding, not for polishing.
Now I should continue my Jaquarna (Jawa rig /Husquarna engine) when my clients and the rain give me some time. And I am waiting for the shipment of my Ural Patrol from Salem, Oregon. In 8 weeks we made with it nearly 12.000km and met quite a few rigs on the road. One day we were 3 Urals at a gas station close to Seattle 1989/21 days /2007.
And here may I present the most impressive rig I have ever seen. the bike of Mickey Sherfield the Anchorage Ural representative.
We baptized our Ural on his dog's surname "Sophie Travelair" at the arctic circle.
Sven 🙂

seen another rig at the hotel next door to my house last weekend from PA , a group had come down to their local chapters fundraiser event . I asked around at the event and no one knew who owned the sidecar and as far as I can tell it never left the hotel that weekend. Only option I didnt try was asking at the front desk of the hotel .....
