I just recently picked up a salvaged Rocket III Triumph. This is going to be perfect for a sidecar.

Any recommendations for what type of sidecar? I am excited about this project!

The one I saw in Anamosa had a Champion on it. Personally, I'm partial to Urals. I think a Ural would be good on a Rocket.

I also have a ural on my dual sport V Strom. I like the rugged all metal look. Seems like it would look great on a Rocket.

Rockets sounds like a terific choice.

Can you get a reverse on one? My Strom weighs probably 750 -800lbs with the SC, not real easy to push around, although generally i am just careful how i park. The Retro's reverse sort of spoils me, I guess.

145 lbs of torque (or whatever they have) would sure be nice going up hills fully loaded.....

btw, you might try calling Jay at Dauntless, he might have done this combo. He did my VStrom, was quite pleased with the entire experience.

Yeah, the guy in Anamosa said Jay did his so he would already have the specs. He was very happy with the job and insisted on giving me a Dauntless business card, even after I told him I was already a customer and familiar with his work.

A Ural would seem to be a good choice.

Where can one purchase a Ural? The choices?

They come up for sale here and on eBay occasionally, otherwise I think Dauntless is the only U.S. dealer for a new one. Other cars that are similar in appearence would be Dnepr's, always on eBay, and Chaings. Having owned both a Dnepr and a Ural, I think the Urals are superior. My passengers all say the Ural is much more comfortable and smoother riding and the finish is a lot better.
