New Yahoo Group for MN,WI,IA,NE,ND,SD
If you're a sidecarist in Minnesota, Wisconsin, The Dakotas, Nebraska or Iowa, consider joining http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/NCHacks/.
This is a new group to keep sidecarists and wanna-be sidecarists who live up here in the North Country up to date with local happenings. It's a place to ask for local help, arrange a ride, check for events, announce a tech day or maybe just let folks know that you'll be at your favorite eatery on Saturday morning and you wouldn't be seriously offended if other sidecarists showed up to chat and have a cup.
With the national rally coming up in our area next year we are also interested in contacting all sidecarists who live in the area whether they are USCA members or not to keep them informed on progress with the rally.
I seem to be having trouble signing in over there Al. I'll work on it more later.
Do you have a "Yahoo ID"? It's free and it just takes a minute [don't be a sucker and fill in any info] but you do need one to join and Yahoo Group.
Gee Al, I thought that was what the SKUNK's were all about. Aren't we SideKarists Up North? Don't we already have a Yahoo site? What gives?
Ya know, I posted something about that on SKUNKS just today. I'm not trying to compete with SKUNKS but there are a lot of folks who don't cotton to SKUNKS. Let's face it SKUNKs has a pretty high silly quotient. Lots of posts from made up IDs, inside jokes and the like. I'm all for that sort of silliness but it's not everyone's cuppa. NCHacks is all about posting ride info, rally info and tech day info. SKUNKs has been really short on that sort of stuff but really long on whether or not Jerr can really summon rain on command. There's room for both. If a more newsie site isn't your thing, that's OK. I'm not signing off SKUNKs because I do feel there's room for both. A good example of this is the ride to ANAMOSA! There are a few riders that want to go and are considering going as a group. Where and when to meet are current subjects. Way too serious for SKUNKs and not of "national interest" so it's perfect for NCHacks. There's subject matter for everybody. If folks don't sign up and use the site, it will die, if they do it will thrive. I guess we'll have to see.
As nice of folks as the SKUNKS are, my email box couldn't take all of the non-sidecar stuff from their email list. No worries, the sidecar world is big enough for everyone, and if its not, we'll bolt a carrier on the side to increase the space.
