I just wanted to say hello to all. I've been lurking for a while and the info from you all has helped me tremendously in the purchase-setup-operation of my first rig. I have a Texas Sidecar Ranger mounted to a 05 Harley XL1200C. I'm HOOKED! If I would have known how much fun it is to drive I would have done this a long time ago. My wife loves being in the car and can finally come with me on rides (she had back surgery and could not ride as a passenger).

Newbie here also...just joined today. Been riding 30+ years and many different bikes. Currently have a 2005 Ural Retro outfit and 1997 Suzuki TL1000S.

Getting Ural ready for another Banzai Rally up in Wisconsin. This year going to take my wife along in the chair. She's really looking forward to it.

Anybody have advice on a good intercom?

Congratulations Henry.

I got into sidecars becuase my SO has an injury and an illness which prevent her from riding on the back of a motorcycle.

She also loves sidecarring.

Re: intercoms, we have the new Nolan helmets with blue tooth, works very very well (i.e. wireless helmet to helmet). Plus, Connie can hook up her I pod, and I hear the music, no fuss. She can also make and receice phone calls, which, for her, is nice.

The he;lmets are moderately priced, although all the gadgets add up. Figure $500 or so per helemt fully equipped. So far, we both really like the helmets a lot.

You can hook up wired helmet to helmet for a few hundred less.

Where is this Banzai rally in WI, you mentioned?

The rally starts in Richland Center and goes for 13 hours. I just checked the website and the event is now full. It was limited to 60 bikes this year. For future reference and other rallies, go to www.glmc.org

Sorry I wasn't able to connect with you earlier, it's a pretty good rally. There's always next year and it's always over Memorial Day weekend. Keep the website and mark your calendar. Just make sure you register early because it always fills up by mid to end of April.
