Comments about the Motorvation Formula II sidecar, please. I am seriously considering having a new one installed at their factory this coming Spring. I will be using my '05 Gold Wing Gl 1800 as the tug. I'm sure I have plenty of power but am slightly concerned about the structural integrity of the Wing. As many of you are probably aware Honda had a major cracked/broken frame issue with the earlier GL 1800's. By '05 the problem is supposed to have been solved. Perhaps I'm just a "Doubting Thomas".

Any comments are appreciated, especially by those of you who have used this brand of sidecar. I'm especially interested in hearing from other GL 1800 owners with sidecars rigs.

Thanks in advance for your response.

Karl

Mark, I am not sure if you were looking for feedback on the Wing as a tug in general, or only with the Motorvation. I have a 07 Wing with a Hannigan GTL, which is a pretty lage sidecar. I think Hannigan has sold over 200 of this specific combination. I am not familiar with Motorvation so cannot comment re: their car specifically, however, i am really pleased with the Wing. A few of the reasons I selected it over the other large touring bikes were the huge 6 cylinder torque, Honda reliability and low maintenance, reverse gear, and zillions of aftermarket accessories.Plus, it will take a car tire with no modification. I think you will really like it. I am not aware of any general structural issues other than the early models as you mentioned.
