does anyone have any input on Moline sidecars? they were built in the 80s. they have torsion suspension with gas shock. I see some pics on the net connected to goldwings, so would assume they are strong enough for my 94 Concours 1000. they don't seem excessively big, so doesn't seem like it would overload the motor. they "look" good, but what's the low-down on their build, quality, etc?

thanks for input!

Dave,

I've seen several of these in real life. In my opinion [which shouldn't be trusted] they are well made. The fit a finish on those I've seen is really good but be aware, these aren't light sidecars. The bodies are thick and there is a lot of body there.

As I recall, ther was one at Sidecars in The Smokies last year. Maybe he'll be back.

Thanks Al. that's good info to know. maybe that's why so many have pics attached to goldwings. 😀

here's a pic that a guy posted for me over on the adv forum. that bmw he's got it attached to is going to be very similar to my concours with the LL front end. Hopefully 1000cc's will pull it along well enough.

The Moline Ultra was designed to match the Goldwing, according to the very best third hand information. About your one liter bike pulling one... I've seen two attached to K1100LT's and they seemed to do just fine, however they did both have smaller diameter rear wheels and they effectively reduces the gearing.

that might be ok. mine is going to have a 17 inch meanstreak wheel on the back and run an overall smaller diameter tire. I can also get replacement torque cams which create power at lower rpms than stock. I already have them on my other C10.

Got some literature and the bill of sale with it. Was made for a Harley but never got attached. Sat around a long time before the previous owner put it together

Dang that looks good! right now the girlfriend is saying she doesn't like it because she thinks it's too narrow. but she won't be happy until I have goldwing with a 2+2. 🙁
