I have noticed
That nothing ever happens late at night on this site.
Don't we have any members in Australia or New Zealand or China Or Antarctica or Guam or where ever
on the other side of the Whirld?
I'm on a rock out here in the middle of the big pond so I guess I am the closer for the night.
And today was just another disgustingly beautiful day of sun and scattered wahines.

its Mungo Jerry time:
I for my turn have to say that since 1.February pass frequently more time on soviet steeds then here. Anyhow the last years it was common to see on all the forums I visit that from June to August traffic on all of them diminish significantly. My suspicion is the snowbird effect.
At the same time articles become shorter and with worse orthography... As in my case last summer and this year due to not use a computer, but a iPad or smartphone. Rubbish orthography support function and tiny letter keypad.
Other observation, as I get worse eyes and something must affect my health, I fall asleep way earlier.
Sorry, Jim.
Best regards from the Continental divide where tonight the Passover wind seam to have set in for a few days.
Good change after such a lot of rain the last weeks.
Sven 🙂

Donkey's joy, wind slept in and clouds grow in the hills again.
It will become another lousy rainy season day. Get things done before moon.
Sven
I am 60 nautical miles east of tomorrow (GMT-11), but when I get home from the salt mine, that's family time, not computer time.
The biggest topic of discussion at the dinner table is picking up the rig in 11 days, taking the two day S/TEP class, practice for another day, then ride back roads for 10 days to LA.
So what sort of rig have you chosen for the superhighways of Pagp Pago?
This was a hard one, because the needs for the tour from Washington State to California are so different from the needs here with a 25 mph speed limit, but we chose a Kenna Double mounted to a V Star 1100 Custom (XVS1100).
If money was no object, I'd store the rig we've purchased in the states for (your) summer holiday's, and get a Ural for here.
If I were on your island, I would want a Rokon with sidecar. Or a Ural
The public roads here are, to varying degrees of quality, improved.
There is the Transmitter Access Road/National Park Trail (depends where your sympathies lie, and I serviced transmitters up there long before it became part of the US Nat'l Park) to the peak of Mt Alava, which is closed to motor vehicles, however...
I'm the Marine VHF Channel 84 repeater custodian, so I am permitted to use it, and I think it'd be a hoot in an Ural, as it's brutal in a 4wd ute! 🙂
If my frustration level is low enough to deal with officialdom, we can also get a temporary import permit, put the rig on the ferry, and go over to (Western) Samoa, as the main islands there are much larger than here (also the source of the 60 mile crack, as they're on the same time zone as Auckland).
They have more unimproved roads than paved, but I've found that if you slow down, and plan your path, a street vehicle will work fine - you should see the taxi drivers!
