Hello all. First post here. I picked up a Honda Helix with Texas Sidecar yesterday on Craigslist for a really dirt cheap price. I have been wanting a sidecar for years and couldn't pass up this deal. I have a Honda Helix that I refurbished and ride on a daily basis and really love the way it rides. I ending up selling the Helix that came with the sidecar which has left me with essentially a free rig. My original intent was to put the sidecar on my nice Helix but my fiance doesn't like riding in one (took her for a ride in it before I took the rig off the ratty Helix) Additionally I was amazed at how much different the scoot handled with the sidecar.
Anyway I am now looking for a motorcycle or scooter of some sorts that I could pick up cheaply and make a dedicated sidecar setup out of. Any suggestions?

I also had a Helex and considered a Texas Sidecar but decided against it because of the engine size. I spoke with the fellow at the WarkShop who had one and he told me the max speed was around 50mph. I purchased a Silver Wing last summer and this spring had a Texas Side Car Ranger put on. It works great and the power is unbeilable. I started very slow with my wife and now after a few modifications she is enjoying the rig. We toured on a Goldwing for many years so she was used to riding but two up not in a sidecar which is totally different. I also live in Cincinnati and if you want give me your email and I will be glad to share my experiences. I looked long and hard before I settled on a Texas and I am very happy with the decision.
