Picked up a 2000 TLE to mate up with my 2008 Roadking this weekend! Color is really close so no need for paint just yet. Need to buy one mount and rear brake assembly. Car has a disc brake, comparable mounts for my bike, save one. Frame, body, and fender in very good condition. has new windshield. Interior carpet needs a little glue here and there. Will start assembly soon. I'm confident of my abilities to put it all together but not real fluent on brakes. That's why I bought the manual!!

Cant wait to see the progress. When in doubt buy a manual.......
This winter I will share pictures and updates of my wheel conversion and replacement mounts on my Velorex Sportster combo.

HD manual says the anti lock break system on '07 '08 model is not compatible with sidecar use.
I took my system off after the brakes turned loose for a whole revolution at an intersection. works very good without them.

That sounds scary, I never have liked the idea of a motorcycle that thinks it is smarter than me.

The brake changes are the most complicated part of the installation. You need the remote reservoir and shorter pedal, among other things. The 2008 sidecar service manual will give you all the specific installation instructions for your bike. I have the 2000 and 2007-2010 sidecar parts catalogs if you need any part number help. Good luck.

Thanks for the offer Dave. In regard to ABS, my Road King has std brakes so no worries with the sidecar brake. I was happy to get a disc brake set-up. A local mech told me they are very expensive to buy separately.
