Good news for Globetrotters

The news of the day!
newspaper tells in some 2 .month or so there will start a ferry to operate between Colon Panama and Cartagena Colombia.
If that comes true indeed living in Costa Rica will get a totally new perspective. The long time shut up door to the south will get opened. With a 18 hour 3 - 4 times a week ferry.
Supposedly 1500 passengers,500 cars, 100 containers payload, 99$ traveler on deck, cabin starts at 140$ vehicle not announced. Service start eventually End Oktober!
Ain't that good news?
Only back stroke harbour is Colon the town with the highest criminality rate in Panama. My dear friend from studies Xiomara Jimenez applied for teacher in the Colon jail and found herself imposed as the jail director 3 weeks later. Those 3-4 years were the hardest of her life and she had to be pensioned at the short age 58.(about).
I guess Sophie might get "a" inauguration trip in the nearer future!

So now you can detour the Darian Gap, that 125 mile nearly impassable swamp.

Jim, a totally new perspective. Free way from tip to tip, Alaska, Patagonia.
As long I do not get stopped like in Noriega times... Every 30 km military patrol with M16 pointing your stomach did us feel like Germany 1938. 4 month later Xiomara had to hide in her bath tub for 3 days and nights together with her cat Misifu below all mattresses she had in her flat...

Look for a book called magnificent obsession. It is the story of the first motorcyclist to make the top to bottom trip alone.

If that was about 1976 on 2 Rokon making 2 atempts, then I have read it a year ago.
