About a week ago, Brother Will related on this forum that we were first on the scene of a sport bike low siding in front of us. The young lady rider was well dressed and only sustained minor rash. While we boys were applying first aid to the bike our girls were applying first aid to the riders rash.

Here is what we learned about our First Aid Kit. I am not going to tell what to put in it. It is a trama kit so you can find lists any where.

1. Every one needs to know where the kit is. On my rig, if I have the bags installed there are 7 places that it stowed.

2. Don't have 2 kits. Doris found the one that should have been discarded thinking it was it.

3. Keep it up to date. Those little packet of antiseptic wipes get punctured and dried out.

4. Keep it supplied and hope you don't need to use it.

An addition to a first aid kit should be a tube of super glue. I recently saw it used to close a small bleeding wound.
It apparently has found a place with EMT supplies now. It holds the skin closed and keeps out dirt
Alchohol wipes with lidocaine can take some of the sting out of abrasions as well as disinfecting.

The stuff does has its limits. Tried to convince my first wife that it was a new brand of lip gloss; didn't work, the adhesion wasn't up to the load! 🙂

Besides using super glue, a roll of duck tape is good to use to keep cuts closed until proper medical help arrives. Of course duck tape should be included in any tool kit.
