EZPass
Anyone know how EZPass works with a sidecar on bridges or roads that charge by the axle?
For example, I understand that the Mackinac Bridge apparently charges 50% extra for a sidecar but if there are EZPass lanes how would this get picked up?
Ralph,
Here in Maryland the toll facilities must treat sidecar rigs the same way that regular motorcycles are treated. The problem is that with the high turnover in toll takers and the small number of sidecar rigs that use the facilities, each trip through was a ten minute "learning experience" for the toll taker.
With the EZPass I now ease through with no problems and no arguments about the number of axles my Ural has.
The UP aside, I think you will find that most states treat sidecar rigs as Maryland does.
