Cycle Hauling

I just received a Goldwing and sidecar, delivered by Erv Boorn of CYCLE/CAR HAULING (972) 242-6578. Very nice fellow, reasonably priced hauling. Keep this in your notes.
Along with a number of Hondas and Harleyson the trailer, he had a 1964 Marusho Magnum that looked like it was brand new. A 500cc Japanese BMW clone. I had never seen one before.
Mike....Ahem....where are the pics of this new rig of yours..???

It's not a rig. The 1981 Goldwing went to my son as a Mechanic's School project and graduation present. It runs and is rideable and comes with new tires, bearings, and stator but the stator is still in the box. The 2001 Motorvation Formula II is going to my daughter when she can afford a bike to pull it. The sidecar has a flip up front but is otherwise plain Jane, no brake, top, or electric lean. I'm hoping to find her an affordable Guzzi Convert or maybe a California to pull it.
Hi Mike,
Nice combination, even if they are headed in separate directions.
I remember seeing ads for Marusho/Lilac in the mid 1960's in Cycle World and Cycle, back when Floyd Clymer owned it. I don't think they sold many of them....they looked like a tarted-up Beemer. It's interesting that they actually exist and are still around.
I explained to my little Spirit of America chair what "Plain Jane" meant, but she just lifted her nose a bit and har-umphed, and stated flatly that a "real" (her words, not mine) sidecar didn't need "frills"....just her attitude, nothing to worry about. 8^)
Nice looking chair next to that Goldwing...

I only said that because most Formulas with the opening front seem to also have brakes, electric lean and a convertible top. This one doesn't even have the molded in sockets for the top hardware. It did however, have a folding luggage rack which is today being moved to mine. :0)
Me, I believe you may have to do some tweeking with the alighnment on that set up. It looks like it t-boned that cycle on the trailer, while in reverse gear. 🙂
Hey, very nice rig, but it lacks a sidecar dog to top it off. Gotta' change that to make it more than just a nice rig. 🙂
what do you call reasonable? how far for how much?
been gettin bikes from texas shipped to ct for $600
by keyboard carrige

In agreeing to do it on his schedule, he charged me $700 to get both the Goldwing and the sidecar delivered from San Jose, CA to Menomonie, wi. Since they were separated, they took up a lot more space and time than if it were a single unit and there was no requirement for a pallet or draining fluids. His only request was that nothing be hanging loose and that the tires are inflated and able to roll.
By his schedule, it took about 3 weeks for him to pick it up, but then only three days to deliver. He does tell me that he does only limited hauling during the winter months though.
Pat....That video is very cool....i think everyone can relate to BOSCO....BTW ..great choice of music to back-it-up....Thanks for taking the time to do that....maybe there should be a video Gallery..???
