I have a '99 BMW R1150RT to which I attached a sidecar last year and, just like everyone said, the rear tire on the bike is aging fast. I understand that the best choice is to put a car tire or square profile tire on the rear of the bike. Question is: can I get such a tire that will fit the stock rim or am I going to have to put a new rim on the bike? If I have to replace the rim, who knows where I can one that is reasonably priced and is not butt ugly?

For your RT we make an automotive wheel set up. It consists of an adapter plate that on one side has mounts for the brake rotor and both early and late style ABS tone rings. On the other side it takes a standard automotive wheel and tire. This set up comes with a 165 15 tire mounted on an alloy rim and sells for $1295. We have these in stock. For your RT we also make a steering modification part that makes for lighter steering. $350
