buyer of my X rig
Thought you all might like to see the new owner of the rig that was sold thru this forum. Thanks United Sidecar Association. This is an e-mail I received from the buyer. Very deserving people that got my rig. Pics of them enclosed. I...We....the both of us have been having a ball. The pictures were taken at my daughters house about 30 miles from my house....our longest rids so far. It was a blast! Karen still loves it, but she still has a hard time getting in and out due to the lost coordination but I'm working on a way to help that. The fastest speed so far is 60mph on a frontage road along interstate 25. It will be awhile before I feel comfortable enough to get out there on the big slab. We are going to take a picnic lunch sometime this week and go up the Big Thompson Canyon toward a town called Estes Park, and have a lunch along the river. You will never know the joy this has brought to MY life!! I can take Karen places and have some fun myself which has been hard to find the last year or so. I will be forever grateful for all your help, and even though we have never met you are my friend in my opinion because you have added joy to my life in the way you have handled the sale and your enthusiasm to help me after the sale. Pam's notes have been real nice and real sweet too....I'm sure we both don't deserve the nice ladies we were blessed with, but God works in mysterious ways huh? I'm like you, when I saw the picture of the two of us sitting on that big black beautiful machine, I thought.....hey!!....we look REAL GOOD. I googled "motorcycle lingo" and found some interesting stuff. One of my fav's(which Karen found discusting) was "bush pad" for the passenger seat. "Nipple Surfing" for a crash on the pavement is a cool one too.
Beautiful rig-congrats!
What a great side car crew !! Congratulation !
Ride always safe and have much pleasure.
Nice looking rig....which model is it?
Enjoy.
Hi Kevin,
the combination is a Goldwing GL 1800/03, stream-silver metalic, with following modifications:
- ExtensoDive front fork with a 165/65R14 tyre mounted on an EML manufactured 14β front wheel assembly.
- A stiffer aluminium triple tree replaces the stock lower triple tree.
- The steering head is made longer and is reinforced.
- The Honda available brake disc covers can be mounted.
- The sidecar is mounted on a stiff sub-frame attached under the engine.
- A 185/60R15 tyre mounted on an EML manufactured 15β rear wheel assembly.
- A GL1800 ABS works properly. The side car has a high effective discbrake which works in combination with the Honda brake system.
Side car is an EML GT 2001. The conversion was done in 2005 by the Dutch company EML
OOppps: Obviously some confusion on this thread. The bike sold was a Harley. Someone just hit the wrong key I'm a thinking. This happen like that sometimes. Everyone get two for the pice of one. The second rig is very nice.
