As you mention the smart tire. In germany it seem like many rigs were converted to Smart tires and I guess it is Sauer who has at least for Beemers rim conversions available.

I am running a 205/60 R16 Goodyear Triple Tread car tire on the rear of my Valkyrie rig. It replaced a 180/70 R16 Avon motorcycle tire.
It works very well, more stability and has increased the stopping force of the rear wheel. The only work neccessary was to do a minor mod to the rear fender nut cages. Cross referencing a 16" car tire inside diameter specs vs a 16" motorcycle tire specs showed a difference of +/- .040" required diameter. Your results may vary.

Many Valk riders are running rear car tires but on two wheels. Supposedly no problems but I wouldn't go that route.

I remove my car very regularly( 15 min) and make note that a car tire on rear requires a delicate touch,..rear of bike is rather loose in hard corners as you crest the tire edges, and much harder counter steering is required, not recommended for rookies, or those with slower reaction time as things get quite hairy in corner apexes at times, deadly in the wet/colder times...softer tire preasures do help the tire flex better, but take care.....FYI crawf.
