Had to grin at that $7000 number - that's what I paid for my 1992 BMW K100RS rig.
Of course that is always just a starting point.
I had to replace my clutch soon after delivery - oil on clutch plates not a uncommon problem with "K" bikes.
I agree that buying a complete rig is way to go - like buying any thing custom made - buying used usually gets more bang for the buck.
