Hey Joe, don't know about Liberty, but I have a Motorvation Spyder on my '01' Heritage Springer and luv it, that Spyder looks like it should be on a Springer, Doc.

i ride an 02 flh with stock harley sidecar. the key for more power is to go to a 95" or 103" kit. stock harleys only generate about 60+/- rwhp. you need at least 80 (95" kit) or preferably 100 (103" kit). 100 hp with 100 ft lbs of torque is a nice goal to shoot for on hd/hd rigs.

THANK'S FOR THE TIPS BUT FOR ME TO GO TO A BIGGER BORE I WOULD HAVE TO MACHINE OUT THE CASES IT'S AN EVO MOTOR WITH HIGH COMP PISTONS A HOTTER CAM AND A MAKUNI 42MM FLATSIDE CARB .THE BIKE HAS OVER 100,000 MILES ON IT SO IT'S TIME FOR A NEWER BIKE. I JUST WASN'T SURE IF A SPRINGER FRONT END OR REAR SUSPENTION WAS STRONG ENOUGH , I LIKE TO RIDE FAST AND HARD FLYING THE CHAIR !

I was looking at doing a similar set up, but after talking to Pete at Liberty I used my '96 Heritage. Pete said he could do it, but didn't recommend using a springer.

I am quite happy using my Evo with mild cam, S&S set up. I have 70K, and it runs great. Good luck with what ever you decide!

from all reports libertys work fine on softails.

i had a 88 twin cam & it was fine, the 96 is much faster.

liberty does the springer rake modification & i have seen longer rockers advertised as well. take your pick.

years ago there was some noise that the springers with the skinny 21" wheel are not as strong as the ones that came with the 16" wheel - you may want to check that issue out - newer ones may be the same - no idea - but it was a rumor at the time.

that said - the baggers have more power than the softails - you can use either a liberty or a harley sidecar. [note: the softail engines have balancers etc and put out less hp than baggers - and a twin cam vibrates more than a evo, so just cutting the balancer chain on a softail makes it into a bar to bar bike only....]

talk to hannigan sidecars in tennessee. he can hook you up with a suzuki hayabusa and sidecar rig. you can ride as hard and fast as your capable of. if your locked into hd- go with an electraglide. tried & true. my .02
