Velorex 562 Too Light for a Kawa Voyager XII?
Quote from TXRider60 on August 12, 2014, 10:30 amJust got the sidecar (it had been attached to a Sportster, then a Buell blast) and I'm trading my little Suzuki for the Voyager. Tentative plan is to trade down for a smaller motorcycle something like a 750) to pull the Velorex-- but I kinda like the big bike. Would this marriage work, or should I follow through on my original plan to mate my sidecar to a middleweight bike? Been riding 50 years-- but this (?) will be my first sidecar rig.

On the Voyager not a good idea! If you do trade for a smaller bike I recommend going with a bike that bike specific mounts are made for as the Velorex "universal" mounts leave a lot to be desired. Also I would look for a bike that you can buy steering modifications for. Of course we and others do make both mounts and steering modifications. Here is a link to an article telling more about how we feel is the proper way to do things. http://www.dmcsidecars.com/the-result-of-improper-sidecar-mounting-and-the-proper-fix/

Quote from TXRider60 on September 23, 2014, 8:29 pmUPDATE: Rig components coming together. The CSC Friendship II has settled into its new home, after a few weeks... The Honda Shadow Spirit 1100 is being delivered tomorrow... And (having confirmed the fit and availability with Jay) I'll be calling DMC tomorrow to order the bike-specific mounts. Have spoken with a firm in our area about the assembly and setup, my final challenge will be matching a black and brown sidecar to the red and black tug (I'm opting for the latter combination, by the way).
