Velorex 562/3 on Road Star 1600

Currently have a 2000 V Star 650 that came with an already installed Velorex 562/3 sidecar. Wanting to know if I remove this and put it on a Road Star if I will need all new mounts. Also was told by some people it is too light of a sidecar for a road star 1600. Any opinions?

Hi Scott, Welcome aboard

I'll leave the details to the more experienced, but I have to say I feel the car might be too lite for the 1600 V Star

I’ve read the 562 weighs around 155 pounds.  That does seem light for a 1600cc bike.  Like Scott I have to defer to more experienced users.  My Escort is 200 pounds mounted on a 1500 cc bike.

The problem with humanity is: we have paleolithic emotions; medieval institutions; and God-like technology.

I would not consider this a safe match as such while we make hardware specific to both of your bikes, we would sell you hardware for the 650 but not the 1600, Safety must come first. I would rather turn down a sale then compromise on safety.
