Thinking of buying a gtl sidecar

12

Any comments about them? I would really like to see a picture of one on a harley dresser as that is what I will be mounting it to.

Maybe contact Hannigan directly? I looked at their site, but I only saw a Goldwing.http://www.hannigantrikes.com/product-type/sidecars/

We have an SP2 on our Goldwing and are really enjoying it. It is a slightly smaller version of the GTL. I have a friend who has a GTL and loves it. He has it matched to an f6b. My experience with Hannigan has been very positive when you have questions about matching a rig to a bike. I would speak with Ruth Ann or Dave. Ruth Ann is usually easier to connect with by phone.

I've had a GTL on my 2012 Golding since September of last year. I had to ride back to Kentucky to have it mounted as there are no Hannigan dealers in California. Dave and his crew are a first rate outfit. The GTL is a quality product and, while I had a few minor issues after I returned to California, they were easily fixed. When I was having trouble getting the hang of driving the rig, Dave himself came out, talked to me about sidecar theory and then took me in the road, Fox and Hound style, until I was comfortable with it. 9 months later and I love my rig even more. I just return from a thousand mile roundtrip hauling a tent trailer and the rig performed flawlessly. I doubt my wife would ever let me take the sidecar off. If you want a top of the line chair, the GTL will fit the bill.

My reasoning behind the gtl was the windshield. I didn’t want a wrap around one due to the primary rider will be a neo mastiff. I liked the idea of her being able to stick her head out with the wind. I will be having it installed the middle of August.

Our 2 dogs, both poodles totally enjoy the SP2. We got the removable side windows and they can and do stick their heads outl. The standard wears doggies to protect her eyes. The younger one usually stays under the dash until we stop. We have doggies for him when he’s ready. Be ready for some long gas stops because people just can’t resist them, want to take pics and talk. It’s a great way to enjoy the ride! Enjoy!!

Are you having it installed at the factory?

Yes

If you aren't trailering it down and need a car for the three day install, there is an Enterprise in Murray that will pick you up at the Hannigan factory. The area around Murray is great for touring and a run to Louisville is not that difficult to manage. Enjoy and ask Dave Hannigan to discuss his "talk to yourself" philosophy on driving a hack. It literally saved my life.

Ocpd44, thanks for the info as I was wondering about that. I joked when ordering that I was going to head over first thing to the tail of the dragon to learn how to handle the new edition. I have never driven one but am not that naive as to it being a bad idea.
