Texas and Southern Oklahoma Sidecarists - Ride 4 Kids

Fellow hack riders/drivers,

We are in the planning stages for the DFW area Ride for Kids to be held October 9. For those of you not familiar with the Ride for Kids (www.rideforkids.org), it is a national fundraising effort to fight brain tumors in kids through the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (www.pbtfus.org). They kill more kids in the US than any other disease. And, there is a good bit more info on the sites above. Please take a look.

How does that involve those of us with sidecars? Some of the kids who have tumors and who are going through chemo or have already gone through it are invited to ride with us during the ride. Sidecars make the best transportation for the young ones (of course!), but trikes and some bikes are used if there aren't enough hacks.

What we are seeking is volunteers to bring their rigs to the DFW area ride Oct 9 so we can plan on how many kids we can accomodate. We already have more tumor patient kids than rigs. Some of these kids won't be around a year from now - literally, so it means a great deal to them and their parents. If you can be there, please post or shoot me an email at gtouchstone@yahoo.com

Thanks.

The Dallas/Fort Worth area Ride 4 Kids is Oct 9. Thanks to several of you who are going to come and provide rides for the kids who are brain tumor patients and survivors. Everyone is invited to this one and your local ride for this great cause. You can see more at http://www.ride4kids.org

one boy who needs to have his father ride with him because the tumor has thrown his balance off. Thanks for any help you can give on this.
