Support Rods?

Did a search and didn't find what what i was looking for so I wanted to ask a question about the support rods on the sidecar.

I have a 49 panhead with a 47 sidecar that i am getting ready to mount together. My question is should the front support rod sit a little lower than the rear support rod? Or should it be level if i was to put a straight edge across them and use a level?

should the sidecar body sit level on the sidecar frame or is this a personal preference?

Greetingz Woods, welcome to the slightly off-center world of sidecars!

If you are asking about the two lower mount points, they should be equi-distant from the ground. If you have ever hung a door, you know how important it is to align the hinges. Same thing with a sidecar. The lower mounts should act like door hinges when it comes time to adjust your lean-out/in. If the lowers are at different heights, then adjusting the lean also adjusts your toe, making alignment near impossible.
