02/23/06 May 6 – 7, 2006. Adventure Sidecar, LLC offers Sidecar and trike driver's education, using the S/TEP training course. These classes will be offered through the Hood River Community Education Program. Prior motorcycle experience is not needed. We will cover basic motorcycle operation as part of the class. You must be at least 16 years old and have a valid drivers license to take this class. If you are under 18 years old you must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. You may take the class using your sidecar or trike or one of ours. If you choose to use your own rig for the class, you must have proof of insurance and the machine must be in safe operating condition. Be aware the driving exercises will be conducted on a grass lot. This 16 hour course is $190; pre-registration and payment is required. More information can be found at: www.adventuresidecar.com .
02/11/06 May 10, 2006. Handicapped Ride. A 2 hour sidecar ride and picnic for handicapped kids. This event was held for the first time last year, and was a great success with both kids and hack drivers. It will start and finish in Roswell, NM. Will anyone wishing to take part contact Ron Miller by e-mail at miller_6705@msn.com. Please bring a spare helmet if you can.
02/11/06 May 11 - 14, 2006. The Butterfly Sidecar Rally - A 500 mile rolling rally throughout the deserts and mountains of New Mexico. For sidecarists and friends. It will start in Rowell, NM and end in Las Vegas, NM. Guided by a resident of the area. No Fee. Deadline for registration is, April 1, 2005. 03/08/06 May 20, 2006. 3rd Annual Northern California Sidecar Club Rally & Picnic. To be held at Oak Shores Park on the shore of Lake Berryessa. 5800 Knoxville Road, Napa. Open to all sidecarists, regardless of affiliation. There is no charge for this event, we only ask that everyone bring their own food and drink, plus a little extra to share. We will be supplying the charcoal, condiments, and have a few extra hamburger patties and hot-dogs for those who forget, or get hungry. Although there is no camping at Oak Shores, there is an excellent campground a few miles away at Lake Solano for those who wish to camp, as well as motels in the neighboring towns. USA on highway 154 next to the golf course. – A $150 pre-paid fee includes campsite, showers, activities and 9 meals. – The rally is family oriented with field events for motorcycles and one for bicycles, a motorcycle show, rides in the area, lots of awards and prizes. Deadline for registration is May 15 – No gate reservations accepted. No dogs allowed. There was an email on the CSOC email list this morning, that the 2006 rally is now cancelled due to lack of pre-registrations. The campground couldn't be reserved with the lack of pre-registrations. Just a heads-up.
