Well, it's time to get ready for this years Ozarks Fall Color Tour. October26th & 27th are the target dates, though riders can use my free GPX filesanytime they wish to. The Clarksville Hampton Inn has a Sunshine Tour taking about 50 of therooms, so it is difficult to get a room there. I'll have a look at the othermotels to see what options they offer. If any of you have an opinion, I'llshare it with the rest of the riders. Here is my motel website:http://www.dualsportmagazine.com/RideMotels.html I made this site a coupleyears ago, but the links should still be good. The GPX files I have available are for the 2005 Ozarks Fall Color Tour, botha regular knobby tire loop and an adventure bike loop. I also have a greatfile of twisty two lane blacktop roads around the area. Recently I found themissing Sunday loop from my old 2000 Mena Fall Color Tour. So, I can nowoffer a full two days of riding in the Quachita National Forest. These loopsare super for all riders, even the adventure class of bikes with knobbytires. Lots of ridge top routes and creek crossings. Please let me know ifyou would like these files. Remember though, these are old files and theForest Service may have changed the roads, or even closed some of them. Itis up to you to explore and see if they are still good. Heck, that is partof the adventure anyway. My part in this whole deal is to offer a dinner on Saturday the 27th. AfterI get a rough head count, I can see how much the dinner is and let you know.Plan on $20, or less. I collect for the dinner because I want to make surethe folks working at the dinner there is well taken care of. You can have alook at the place here: http://www.wiederkehrwines.com/ I have a huge list of new riders interested in this years ride. I'm happy toanswer any questions you may have about how this whole dual sport thingworks. There are a lot of questions which can be answered by reading all ofthe various webpages I've created over the years. Have a look at the FCTpage for links: http://www.OzarksDualSport.com You can also email me withquestions. If you have friends who wanted to get emails from me about the ride, butdidn't, they need to look for my email in their spam folder. It happens alot. Over the years, I've created route files, saved track files, and playedaround with a lot of different GPS units. There is now easy way to create afile which works on everyone's GPS. They are all so different. If you don't want to receive emails from me, please let me know and I'lldrop your address. If you, or a friend, want to get emails, please let meknow that too. There is a discussion about the ride at AdvRider which you can join in on ifyou would like. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=257788 Itis a place for riders to connect with others to share info, coordinate andmeet. The GPX files are complete and ready to send. I have received a file from arider for the Mill Creek trails, which I can offer after I play with it abit. Let me know if you would like any of these files: 1) The 2005 FCT Routes & Tracks for the knobby Tire Loop & Adventure Loop.400K file size 2) The old Mena Dual Sport ride loops, and some of the Wolf Pen OHV areatrails. 500K file size 3) Twisty Ozarks Paved Roads. 2.1 mb file size --RL LemkeDallas, TXhttp://www.OzarkDualSport.comhttp://www.DualSportMagazine.com
