Why don't the pictures come through? I use bike pics and have tried what works on other sites. Why doesn't it work here.
Hey Phelonius: I posted the pics using the little green tree button using the Rich Text Editor -- changing the Appearance width to a uniform 600 pixels.
Click on use rich text editor to the bottom left of your screen at the basic input screen for a much more user friendly way to post text and pics.

Okay, Phel, click on the green tree and copy the "image location" (same links as 1st post) into the top box. Then click on "Appearance" and set first "size" box to 600-to-800 pixels so the pics are not too big. Then click"Insert."

You are telling me to click on things that are not there. I see no (appearance) option
There is nothing called image location in bikepics
I am using an apple macbook. What are you using? Do you have more options than me?

Phel, this is the "image location:" bikepics-1557785-800.jpg -- or maybe think of it as the "source" -- I generally obtain it by right clicking the mouse on the "source" photo as the host site, such as bikepics.
I'm using Mozilla Firefox in Windows XP - the macbook may be different, but when I click on the little green tree it opens a box entitled "Insert/edit image." Cut & paste the link to the "image location" or "image URL" in the top box to post the pic.
I see 3 tabs at the top: "General" to paste the link to the image; "Appearance" to change the image pixel width for better viewing on the forum screen; and "Advanced" that I'm not smart enough.

Phel, use the same sequence to obtain a link such as this .jpg below to paste into the "Image URL" box under the "General" tab in the "Insert/edit image" box:
I just tried this "link" or "location" and the pic posted successfully.

Okay I am grateful for your help but much of what you talk about, I either don't have or can't find. To begin with when I click on the green tree, I do not see "insert/edit image" Another problem is I don't have a mouse hence have no right click left click difference.
I will try to experiment a bit to see if I find anything that works. I will continue on this thread so as not to clutter up other parts of the forum.

I am not sure how that happened. It may not have come from bike pics.
clicking around the screen got me the box like I use to load photos to bike pics direct from my computer.
I used it and got a pic to send. I'll see if I can do it again.
This system sucks! First it won't let me post a photo, then it doubles what ever I do, and is very slow.

Phelonius - 10/2/2012 12:08 AM ... I don't have a mouse hence have no right click left click difference....
I'm not familiar with mac's, but our windows notebook PC has a two buttons below the finger pad for the pointer that equate to left-click & right-click on a mouse.
Hope you don't mind that I inserted your Velorex pic on the other thread.
If I had plenty time & money (don't we all) I just come over and we'd drink coffee and look at your macbook to see if we could figure it out together.

For posting pictures this is the most difficult and confusing site of them all.
I get multiples or I get nothing, or it will let me, with great difficulty, post directly ftrom my computer then won't let me post from bikepics.
Then there is the problem of it offering to do something but when I click on that nothing happens.
