If anyone is interested, we will be meeting in Mineola Texas.

All are welcome.

We have reservations at http://www.easttexasburger.com/ for Saturday April 18th at 11:30 AM.

Howdy,
I see you are going to meet-up for burgers again.(on the 25 th too) I am picking up my sidehack rig from Perrys in Ft Worth next week. I will try to make it to one of your future get-togethers in the near future.Hardy Baker (half-way between Houston and Dallas)

Hi Hardy Baker,

It'll be great to meet you!
We're going to attend the "Party in The Pines" next month in Longview---maybe see you there?

Keep an eye on the web site (www.texastriker.com) for upcoming events, I'll post as details become available.

Hope you enjoyed your ride. Sorry I missed it. I'm over in the DFW airport area and just saw your post. Don't get on these forums very often. If you're ever heading this way, give a shout at gtouchstone@yahoo.com and we'll grab some grub. Also, I started a facebook group today called Texas Sidecars to try to start identifying a Texas sidecar community. Spread the word.
Gary

What is a "facebook group"??? Is this a web site? If so, can you give us a link to go to? Thanks, Hardy

Yes, it's one of those sites where you can keep up with people you know.

Just got back from a weekend in the hill country and saw several other sidecars on the road. I was quickly reminded that the Grapeland Rd and the Willow City Loop are sometimes better for 2 wheelers than a wide 3 wheeler, but we had a great time.

Hi All,

We're planning on going to the Longview "Party in the Pines" on Saturday May 23rd.
Anyone that wants to go, we'll be up meeting in Gilmer.
For those coming from other directions, we'll meet at the north end of the Exhibit Building under the "Joker Run" banner---time to be determined.
See http://www.pinerally.com/

E-mail me for details at: flhr@bdsnooks.com.

Hope to see you there!

Colin

Wow, just found this site but it looks like no activity for awhile. I'm in Longview and have a 07 Ural Gearup. Any other Ural owners (we ride at a slower speed) in the area?

Hey Oldtimer: Glad you found this site. I should have mentioned it before. Today would have been a good day for a lunch ride., but it's too late now. What's the weather forecast for Monday? -- I have the day off.

Hey Lee, good to hear from you. Monday is going to be daylight and that's good enough for me. Where do you want to meet, Jefferson? There is that little hamburger place off the main road. I think it's the one we all went to at the Uncertain rally.

OK, I'm in. Forecast is High of 42 with little chance of rain. I'll pull out the heated gear. Where & what time to meet up? Is it too cold for Tripper?

Anyone else up for lunch Monday?

How about 1:00? Is that ok? Nah, Tripper will love it so I'll bring her along. I'll just hide the thermometer so she doesn't realize how cold she is. LOL We either can meet at that hamburger place in Jefferson or Juicy's in Marshall if you like. Makes no difference to me. I'll send an email to Carl. We meet at Juicy;'s once in awhile and I'll see if he is up to it.

Yep, 1:00 sounds OK. I'll plan to bring Maddie along. Let's try the Jefferson hamburger place. Where is it? Or do you recall the name? Oh yeah, I'm working on a leaking valve stem core at the moment.

I think it's called The Bakery. 210 West Austin. One block off the main drag past Skinners bar where the wannabes hang out.

Let's aim for downtown Jefferson at 1pm Monday. I was planning on driving the BMW/EML rig, but first I have to figure how to break the bead on a tubeless auto tire so I can insert a new valve stem. 🙁 I'll try Bud's suggestion of a large c-clamp tomorrow afternoon.

Lee / Summer Grove, Louisiana: Ural cT, CJ750, Burgman/Texas Ranger, Zuma 50F, MB5, TW200, CRF250L, GTV300

Did you try running over a section of it with the car? Or, put it under something heavy like a car and put a hydraulic jack on the bead between it and the car and jack it up, the tire should compress and come loose before the car goes up. Or............bring it over, I have a Harbor Freight bead breaker. Spray some WD40 or soap solution around the bead.

Well, the unpredictable N-La/E-Tx weather foiled another trip. Forecast was partly sunny and 42F, but the day brought early damp snow and area temps of 30F-34F with potential ice on bridges. Oh well, we'll try again.

By the way, an 8" c-clamp with a couple of plywood "expanders" did break the bead on the auto tire so we didn't have to remove the wheel to replace the leaky valve stem.
