Quote from jaydmc on December 5, 2014, 10:14 amWhile the only rig I have ready to go even close to your price range is still over your range (F650 in the rigs for sale section) we do offer sidecars that come with bike specific mounts. And we do make bike specific moutns for all 3 of the bikes you have listed. Our Enduro is $3695, The M72B is $3995 as is our Cargo sidecar.
The first photo is of our Enduro on a DR650, The next is our cargo on a BMW F650GS and the last is the M72B on an F650GS. This is also the rig for sale.

DMC sidecarsJay, rig number two, a 650 with cargo, is exactly what I am looking for. Never have a passenger with me but do carry camping and riding gear a lot. My first ride to Prudhoe Bay was on a F650GS, great machine, reliable and easy to maintain.
My plan is when I find the right 650 rig, remove the S/C body and install an aluminum tool box. Speed is not the objective here. Parts availability, easy re-gearing and reliability are paramount.Jon

Quote from CCjon on January 23, 2015, 1:03 amScratch the dual sport in California. Drove out with a trailer to pick it up. Discovered several fatal flaws in the design/fabrication that were deal killers that price negotiation would never fix.
So am back in the market for a dual sport sidecar rig. A KLR or DR 650 would be perfect. Simple, bullet-proof with no worry about breaking down half way back from Prudhoe Bay or some such remote desolate place. Will be riding hundreds of miles of gravel and dirt.
Trying to keep the cost under $5000, but if I have to build my own, I know it will cost more than that.
Please pass on any contact info on rigs you know or hear of that will fit my needs.

Sorry for the dry run Jan, but sure better to determine the flaws now than find 'em in the middle of nowhere.

Quote from CCjon on January 30, 2015, 10:58 pmAfter not finding a dual sport rig set up the way I thought it should be, called Jay at DMC to discuss a rolling chassis sans tool box. He recommended looking for a low mileage KLR650 as a tug. Lots of them around, aftermarkets parts are plentiful and affordable. Since I plan to sell the rig at the end of my ride in South America, doesn't make sense to tie up a lot of $$$ in a fancy rig you can't find a buyer for. Didn't take long to find a 2006 with less than 9000 miles for $2200. Brought it home tonight. Let the farkling begin.......
Next week I order a rolling chassis with a 19" wheel from DMC and mate the two. Should start, not a build thread, but an "Assembly thread" as I don't weld. Can wrench, cut, drill, grind, fart, groan, scratch, wire, paint and loctite.

I can give a hand with a mig welder on the project if need be.At the moment we're installing Buddy Burt's subframe on Big Red. Should be done pretty soon...

Quote from jakhack on May 24, 2017, 3:27 pmDid you find thge rig you wanted?
I am selling my home and losing some storage space. So I am selling my two sidecar rigs, including my enduro rig: 2000 KLR 650 with a velorax sidecar setup up for off road travel. It has the 1" axle on the sidecar and heavy rim/tire from NOrthwest sidecar in Boise Idaho. Plus a 5 gal jerry can and mount for extra gas.
I have not listed it yet on sedecar.com but will be in a month or so. But if you are interested now, let me know by contaacting me at: jakhack@gmail.com
