There was not the same amount of snow as previous years, but there was enough to give pause at times. Still, this year the rigs made it across the first big snow drift (with assistance from onlookers) and we got to within rock throwing range of the Forest Service gate that bars further progress for cars to Guanella Pass itself.

Are your Urals two wheel drive? Do you run chains or anything for snow on the back wheel? I want to dive mine one time in snow but not as much as that.

yes, the Urals that were with my suzuki rig on the elephant ride were 2wd, engageable. Not fulltime.
My present Ural, a 2011 Patrol also has engageable 2WD.

yes, the Urals that were with my suzuki rig on the elephant ride were 2wd, engageable. Not fulltime.
My present Ural, a 2011 Patrol also has engageable 2WD.
