Finally committed to which bike to use

Ordered the mounting hardware from Jay today for my 98 Valkyrie. Been trying to decide which to use since I purchased the Escort from Big Tom last November. My options were the Valk, my 750 Shadow or purchase a VTX1300. All 3 options had good and bad points so it was a hard decision. I think I finally got tired of thinking about it, said a silent "to hell with it" and called DMC. Hope it all works out.

Good choice, the Valkyrie makes a great tug. The Escort is a good match for it too.

If you plan on making it a long distance touring rig then it is also a good candidate for going Darkside. A 195/60-16 or a 185/75-16 car tire seems to be good options for you.
Here is a link to the Valk Tech on the Darside site. http://mcdarksiders.forumotion.com/f7-valkyrie-tech.

Post any questions as you set it up.... and photos too.

Patty and I were just talking about you two yesterday. We were wondering what you had decided to do with the Sidecar...

Hi Tom. It was nice meeting you and Patty. We had a great time on the trip there and back. Seems like just about every time we stopped someone wanted to know what that thing in the back of the truck was.
CCjon, thanks. I had planned on darksiding after getting some experience and confirming having a sidecar is for me.

are you going to try to color match the car to the bike?

man i would love to do that. Maybe after my learning time is over. I've seen cars color matched to two tone bikes and they're awesome. I have a bit of amateur auto painting experience but it was decades ago. Paint technology has changed a lot since then. You can still get the one step paint but the two step using a base then clear coat looks like it might be easier. Been tying to read and watch YouTube videos about the new stuff and it's piqued my interest. I may buy some moderately priced supplies online and practice on something to see if I can pick it up.
