File to Large When Trying to Post Photo in Profile

Why do I get an error saying my photo is too large to post in my profile? It's only one picture just like anyone else who posts.

If you're trying to post an avatar, the file can't be bigger than 200 x 200 pixels.

Thanks Al. I guess I wouldn't know how to make the file smaller. I took the picture with my android phone. I haven't a clue how to manipulate files that way.
