Just registered double occupancy at Rising Star Casino Resort for 3-nites, for 2018 Rising Sun Rally - after much motel/hotel searching within 20 miles. By booking via "Hotwire" ( I saved a few bucks with a rate of $88 per night, plus $20 per nite taxes - plus another $5 per nite for cancellation insurance...Total $113 per nite, no free breakfast, but restaurants available. Ride Safely, or as Roger Hull always said, "Ride Sagely".

I've never been to the Rally and may not be able to make all days.
I'm curious when the agenda comes out?

So Sorry to hear you had such a hassle with making reservations at Rising Star Casino. After reading your message I called the Casino to verify our rates and they had us under the wrong rates. That has now been corrected. Thursday night is $69, Friday & Saturday nights are $99 for an average of $89 per night plus taxes. Also they have little perks with our reservations.

Just for anyone else who have already made reservations with Rising Star Casino, your rates have been adjusted to the lower group rate.

Thanks for bring this to my attention.

but I do not need to make a interstate run ....thinking on a 2 or 3 day ride on secondary roads...but that will be up to the group if anybody wants to join me to make a group ...lets start planing ...

USCA # 8913

early registration for USCA national rally 2018 ends May 1st.

I’m not sure we’ll be able to attend from beginning to end (Thursday thru Saturday night). Does anyone have an agenda/schedule of events?

Yes, There is a tentative Schedule on my facebook page...Belinda Schraeder. If you do not have facebook, email me and I will send you a schedule.

Belinda Schraeder EA, USCA Treasurer

I do have Facebook but I’m not very good at finding things. I’ve sent you an email. Thanks.

Just an update...We have added 3 fun guided group tours, to the Rally. All of the tours will leave from the pavilion and transportation on the tours is provided. All will be offered free to those attending the rally. The first is a Ghost-Historic Tour of some the history of Rising Sun which may include topics of legends, civil war, or the underground railroad. It is offered Thursday evening, so get to the rally early. The other 2 will be offered at 10am on Friday & Saturday and will be a tour of the Red Wolf Sanctuary where you will get to hear about the efforts to rescue and rehabilitate wild animals from bears to eagles.

These are in addition to the regular rally events.

As of 4-24-18 The Courtyard (812-438-4035) still had rooms available, the Lodge at Rising Star Casino (812-438-1234) has availability in our block of rooms, and Little Farm has plenty of camping spaces open (812-438-4500).

Hope to see you there.

I am sending out a request for volunteers. Here is what I am looking for at the moment:

Someone who is super excited about organizing and running the Sidecar games. I will take care of supplying the awards.

I need a coffee-water-snack over-see-er. I will supply all items, I just need someone to oversee things are always available. Maybe someone staying at the campground.

Anyone interested in acting as judges for the Show-n-shine. Again I will take care of supplying the awards and I am doing a "Peoples Choice Award", that's pretty easy, just count the votes, but I feel we need judges for the other categories.

Anyone willing to help out with things I haven't thought of yet.

Don't be shy.

I can be reached through this site somehow or at

Thanks in advance

Belinda; Check with your local CMA chapter. They are usually helpful with providing help.
I will be there to help with what ever is needed.
Tex. Rep.

sorry to have too be saying this .. but I will not be able to make the rally this year ..I will be cancelling my res at rising sun if anybody is looking for a room ....have to put the house before the ride...just one of those unexpected pleasures of being a home owner....and I am almost finished with the new rig...have fun guys and I will catch you all net year ....

Update on lodging...The block of rooms we have reserved with our discount still has some availability, but what is not reserved by June 1 will be released for public use. The Little Farm is filling our block of campsites and they also have a few openings left, those will be released June 7 for public use. That being said, if your are thinking about joining us at the Rally you may want to go ahead and get your lodging reservation before those times. It also appears, some have lodging reservations, either at the Rising Star or Little Farm, that have not actually registered for the Rally. There are benefits to registering for the Rally in advance of getting here. Those registered in advance are getting goodie bags that contain free stuff, $5 off meal coupons at local restaurants, and will be guaranteed a t-shirt if they order one. Registration on site will still include those things only as supply lasts and all registrations will include catered breakfast, dinner, awards and entertainment on Saturday, the free guided tour/hayrides, tech talks, beverages, snacks and more. So make sure you get registered for the Rally it's self.

Mike and I are so excited to be hosting this year's rally. We look forward to seeing everyone in 3 weeks here in Rising Sun!
