This past Saturday we decided to take the Euro-Wing out for a drive to the Washington coast, to visit Bennett's Fish Shack in Westport, Washington. Short route getting there was 85 miles, longer route getting home was 110 miles. 'Twas a good drive, a pretty good halibut and cod lunch, and the weather was great.
I need to try harder to drive slower, and working on a fix for the Boss Monkey to get into and out of the sidecar seat easier.
Changed the engine oil and filter One Last Time on this rig, here in the USA, before shipping it to Germany early next year. All other mechanical things are done, and with the singular exception of implementing a fix for getting the Boss Monkey into and out of the sidecar seat easier, this rig is ready to ship.

On Sunday I took the rig to our CMA chapter meeting in Kearney while Karen drove the car. She HATES driving outside of town following the stroke so I give her full marks for bravery doing so.
It was necessary to have her drive the car because it is going to the upholstery shop to have the convertible cover built so that she can actually ride in the car. At present, the wind comes around the windscreen and smacks her solidly in the face. Otherwise she has to be laying down with the tonneau cover installed which is not at all pleasant. Plan is to have the rig taken to the shop this week by a friend that lives in Kearney for him to work on next week.
Planning to have the rig in the Vet's Day Parade November 9.
I got a little dslr in 2019 and since then I have taken over 25,000 pictures. So I admit I can get a little carried away with posting. The sidecar hobby has led me to another hobby - and another leak in the bank account.
A couple of months ago... Same Obstruction Point trip.
I put up some slide shows on the home page at Metalcarver.com
Yesterday I got a beaten up truck tire 10"*20" transported home with the Ural rig. Purpose is to cut it into 2 halves and avoid that leaf-cutter-ants "Zompopas" eat up 2 new trees in the farm. You add some rain water dripping into the halves and the ants wouldn't cross the water to strip your plantings. One willow has been stripped now 14 times in 3 1/2 years.
Btw: Once upon the time the Ural found me a good location for to dig a pond in the farm... The Ural worked as a dowsing rod and found a humid place: Since then I know what is the primary purpose of the original Ural oven pipe mufflers:
525 miles today, straight down I-5, from my house to Russell Day Long seats in Nor California to have my 18th seat made for me.
Do they have like an honorary wall or some such in your honor there?
Neil, this is the so-called honorary wall, or....Wall of Honor....at Russell Day Long seats, as I sit in the office, whilst Jay builds my new seat.
Last time I was here Jay informed me that there was another guy that has more RDL seats than me, and when Jay told me the guy gets a new bike every year, so he needs a new seat, I Correctly assumed the guy must be BMW rider, and he is.
Today Jay tells me that there are actually 3 guys with more RDL seats than me....all BMW riders....and they all ride together.
Butt (pun intended) Jay also said that no one has the total overall mileage on RDL seats that I do.
I suppose if you belong to the BMW cult, the RUBbies.....Rich Urban Bikers....and you accept that your bike will greatly depreciate in its second year, and costs too much to have the preeminent BMW shops do the mandatory major service on it.....it makes sense to trade it in for a new BMW every year.
