A single wheel transport

A funny thing happened inΒ Prague,Β Czech Republic today,Β and it immediately brought to mind two of our sidecarists on these forums.
The roads in Prague are 1000 years old,Β made of granite blocks measuring about 6" x 6". It's the stereotypical cobblestone roads, but with granite blocks.Β Driving on these city streets is teeth rattling,Β wears out tires, and suspension systems.
As we were driving back from theΒ PragueΒ Castle...in a VW van taxi....lo and behold I see a guy riding a powered unicycle.Β He was seriously zooming on these granite blocks roads, then came screeching to a sudden stop behind a trolley car train. Quite impressed how well this guy handled thatΒ powered unicycle.Β
Seeing it reminded me ofΒ @Ace, and Dana @DirtyDR, as both of them ride human powered unicycle.
Then, at dinner this evening,Β eating Czech pizza at a sidewalk Cafe, another guy goes zooming past on another powered unicycle.Β
Okay,Β @Ace andΒ Dana @DirtyDR, you guys being g unicyclists....have you seen these powered unicycles.

I have to say I have never seen one in person but they appear to be getting more and more popular. I'm going to stick to my self propelled set up for as long as I can.Β
Β

There's a guy that used to commute past mine regularly on one. (Electric)Β
Made good speed for a 50kph zone and tended to gracefully sway in arcs instead of straight lining it.
Saw him grab a takeaway coffee at a servo once.
He was taking a sip as he stepped onto his machine and blithely cruised away.Β
Can't imagine trying to ride one on cobblestones though.
Not seen him for while.
A couple of scenarios go through my head as to why not.

Muni is my favorite way to ride, I have to agree with you about the handle in that clip, I custom built both of mime from a set up for a racing bike and find they works really well. the orange one is for mountain riding and the black one is for road riding. I don't ride the big one that much anymore except during September when I'm trying to raise money for the cancer research center for kids.Β

I can't ride like I used to but I still have three unicycles. The one I like to ride the best is my Trials and I have a medium sized street Uni but I do have a monster, Kris Holm, competition Muni. I will grab some pictures for you Ace.
