Please tell me what bike side mounts are. I have an 80 naked wing here in need of repair and might part it out. Not sure if I have what you need but let me know what they are.

You will need the bike side mounts as well as the two pylons. Pylons are the parts that come off of the sidecar that attach the sidecar to the bike side mounts. These are specific to the 1980 and 1981 bikes as Honda changed the wheel size for 1982 which changed the bikes stance some. Chances are you would not notice the difference but they did have different part numbers. The front lower mount for the GL1000 is the same as for the GL1100. The rear mount is different between the GL1000 and the GL1100 however it is not all that hard to make the 1000 work on the GL1100, you just need to drill a hole and do things slightly differently. Sorry I can not remember the details as I have not done this in about 15 years. We had all of the NOS Vetter parts but sent them all to scrap about 4 years ago as I was moving (they were stored at my house in a shipping container) and there is now so little demand for these parts that I could not justify moving and storing the parts. We do make mounts for your bike for a standard 4 point mount however you also need to convert the sidecar over to a standard adjustable 4 point mount. This is significantly more money then finding the original parts.

Thanks Jay, The pylons were left on the chair so i have them and I have photos of the bike side from a member of the Vetter forum. Just fishing here;)
Bone, If you send or post a pic of the right side of your bike I will let you know if the parts i need are there.

The pylons were specific to the bike that the sidecar came off of. Each bike takes different pylons, so unless the bike was a 1980-81 GL1100 they will be wrong however the GL1000 and 1982/83 Goldwing pylons are close enough, the sidecar just will not sit perfectly level.

Hi shadow. I mistook what you were asking for. The old wing I have is a two wheeler not a rig. sorry for that.... 🙂

That's Ok, would it have stock rear (passenger ) foot pegs?

Not sure, I will look in the morning. It has been sitting here for a long time.

I can't seem to find those foot pegs. I was sure they were there somewhere. They are not attached to the bike. I will keep looking and if I find them I will let you know. I have had this thing sitting here for about 10 years. A project I never got to. I need to sell it.

For what it is worth, we have a GL1100 parts bike going to scrap in the next few weeks as we do not wish to move it. I will not pull parts from it however if some one wants to come and get parts they are free.
Note the date today is 1-29-2018 I point this out as I have people asking about things I posted back in the 1990's

I'd love to come out and see your shop Jay, but a road trip not in the cards.
Thanks

Hey Jay,

Do you still have the GL1100 parts bike? I can't make the trip either, but I do know some folks in WA that just might help you out with getting that oldwing out from under foot.

Sorry sent to scrap right before we moved.

Since most folks read the forum using the "Unread Topics" tab, crossposting won't get you more exposure and might get some negative comments.  Crossposting is discouraged but not prohibited.

I read the forum via the "Activity" tab. Works well and anything new would show up.

That works but it includes the stuff that you may have already read.  Either way is fine.

I like the activity tab because the entire thread shows up. Even if I've read it before, when someone responds to another's comments it's easy to look back and review what the previous person said. I still believe the forum isn't as active as it once was and I miss those days. So re-reading what someone wrote isn't a major time consuming deal. And on the occasions that someone responds to a real old post it's actually quite helpful.

I can't say for sure , but this guy seems to have quite the collection of NOS parts, might want to contact him .   http://floridasidecarproducts.com/sidecar_mounts
